Rizpah's Kindness Unto the Dead by Gustave' Dore

Rizpah was one of Saul's concubines, by whom he had two sons that King David offered to be killed by the Gibeonites.  Now, the Gibeonites killed two sons of Saul, and Michal's five adopted sons (2 Samuel 21:8-14).  Rizpah, seeing this, could have been selfish and said that "I will only protect what is mine;" but, she did not do that.  Rizpah had enough passion and compassion to protect all seven of the young men that were hanging. She stayed on this hard place and fought everything that came to devour the flesh of these dead boys. She fought for their honor, even to her own discomfort.

“I have given you the same passion and compassion for the spiritually dead, emotionally dead or dying.  Your assignment is to protect my women from further damage until I breathe life and wholeness into them.  I taken your life down the path it has gone for this purpose.  This is not your whole destiny, but only a part.  Bring my women in from the coldness of life and nurture them back to health.  The bulldog tenacity that I have given you will enable you to be the mentor my women need to fulfill their destiny in the Kingdom.”

These are the words that the Lord spoke to me regarding my assignment in the kingdom.  Understand this; we who have been called, chosen, and sent by God are “Rizpahs” in our own right. As such, it is our assignment to bring healing and wholeness to those who have experienced the pain and suffering that life can bring.
